Winning team Bangor Amateurs'.

On Saturday 19th June the KCAG (Kilcooley Community Action Group) held their now annual under 18 Football Tournament.

This is a hotly anticipated event both by the local teams and those spectators who make it a ‘date in their football diary’ to come along each year to watch.

Those who came to watch were not disappointed with some excellent football skills on show with a real competitive edge to the tournament.

There were 8 teams taking part with the final being contested by local team Bangor Amateurs’ and Tullycarnet from East Belfast.

The final was a tight affair with Bangor Amateurs’ winning narrowly by 2 goals to 1.

Although extremely competitive the game was played in a good spirit with all teams exchanging banter and warm handshakes following each of the games.

This event proved once again to be a huge success for the KCAG and kicks of the summer programme of events which will see numerous Ulster Scots and sporting activities taking place in the area.

KCAG would like to thank Colin Atkinson from Glasgow Rangers FC and Northern Ireland International Keith Gillespie for their attendance and support of the event.

Thanks must also be extended to Stephen Archibald from NDBC for his sponsorship.
