Five Generations Celebrate Together

Five Generations Celebrating Together.

Mrs Esther Davey was born on 9th March 1920 in Nassau Street, Belfast to David and Margaret Davey, the eldest of ten children. She married William Robinson on 27th June 1936 and they lived at Huss Street before moving to Beverley Street on the Shankill Road. They had four children.

In her younger days Esther worked in the new Northern Mill, Northumberland Street.

Due to the ‘Troubles’ they moved to Kilclief Gardens in Kilcooley in 1974. From there they moved in 1976 as the first tenants of Drumawhey Gardens. William Robinson died in 1983.

Esther’s daughter Catherine and her family moved from Suffolk, Belfast in 1977 to Ballywalter Gardens in Kilcooley but now live at Clandeboye Drive. Catherine’s daughter Charlene purchased 87 Ballywalter Gardens from her parents in 1993 and continues to live there. Charlene’s daughter Lianne Campbell then bought number 13 Carrowdore Gardens in Kilcooley where she still lives and in January 2010 she gave birth to baby Caitlin.

Since 2008 Mrs Esther Robinson has been living in Bramblewood Care Home where the staff has been fantastic in the care they provide to her. On the 9th March 2010 Mrs Esther Robinson will celebrate her 90th birthday and her son and grand-daughter will be flying in from Canada to enjoy the celebrations.

Mark Gordon Community Development Manager Kilcooley Community Forum said, “I think it's fantastic that five generations of the one family can come together to celebrate the birth of their newest member. I congratulate them and wish them all well for the future.”
